How To Design An Accent Wall in Your Nursery

how to design an accent wall in your nursery

Hey Hey!

I’m working with a client right now on a nursery and one of her requests is an accent wall. And with so many possible combinations and ideas out there, I figured I would put into one place for you all.

Accent walls had their shining moment several years ago, and there are designers out there that say it’s so last season. But I disagree, I think they are here to stay and the perfect way to add something special and unique to your nursery (or child’s room). There are so many different ways to do an accent wall that the options are endless:

  • paint

  • wallpaper

  • wall murals

  • wall decals

  • stencils

  • molding

  • shiplap

And with so many different ways to do an accent wall, you can be as creative as you want. Accent walls do not have to be the largest wall in the room. You can add a lot of visual interest and impact by dressing up the smallest wall with a small budget. You also don’t have to take up the entire wall to make it an accent wall! So here are some of my favorite feature walls in nurseries! You will notice in the below images, there are accent walls that feature a small section of a wall or have two design elements, such as paint and molding.
